Lead Pastor

Brian Smithson

Summit Pentecostal Church is led by Pastor Brian Smithson. For over 25 years, Pastor Brian has helped Christians and people new to Christianity understand the Bible and go deeper in their faith. His passion is for Summit Pentecostal to be a place where people can grow in Jesus and have their lives changed.

Pastor Smithson comes from a background in

real- estate and home building and he was instrumental in the purchasing and remodeling

of the current new facility. He and his wife are often seen working around the church properties throughout the week when they are not studying or working on music or other church projects.

Pastor Brian has been married to Tammy for 20 years, and they have 2 children, Olivia and Sophia, who love Jesus.” Tammy’s greatest enjoyment in life is serving others. She is passionate about servanthood at SPC, and her vision is to see people grow in their personal walk with God and also to see SPC impact, bless and benefit the Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and surrounding communities. She also works as a Nurse Practitioner.

Together, they have been serving Summit Pentecostal since 2007.

What We Believe

The Word

We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. SPC teaches the inerrancy of the word of God.

2 Tim 3:16

God

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son(Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).

Col 2.9, 1 Tim 3:16

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.  Through baptism we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues.

Acts 2:4

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as healings, and miracles. God has designated gifts of the Spirit to minister to the church. The gifts of the Spirit include tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and healing.

Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11

Our Vision

Summit Pentecostal is a passionate church, founded on it's faith in the Almighty God, Jesus Christ.

At SPC we strive to grow closer to God in every service.

Worship is an essential part of our Church. We expect to feel God's power in each service and to have a close relationship with him. We encourage worship and believe in experiencing the supernatural power of God. We believe in healings and miracles. We believe in the power of the Holy Ghost to help each of us live an overcoming life.

Salvation is obtained through faith in Jesus Christ. We recognize our need for repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.

We love people and want to see each and every one succeed and fulfill the purpose God has for them.

We are here to serve together and to help each other!
